Getting started:
-
We will schedule a free, 15-minute consultation call so I can learn more about what you are looking for, answer initial questions about treatment, and discuss fees and scheduling.
This call is not therapy! Instead, it is a brief check-in to make sure we are the right fit (e.g., you are aware of my fees, we have mutual availability for scheduling, I have experience treating what you are wanting help with).
If, at the end of the call, we are unable to move forward with treatment, I will do my best to provide guidance on next steps for finding a better match!
-
The initial evaluation will consist of a 1-hour evaluation during which I will ask about your current symptoms, your history, and your goals for treatment.
Prior to the appointment, you will be required to complete some paperwork including consents, forms and surveys.
**For teens: I require a separate 1-hour evaluation for both the teen and parent(s)/guardian(s) for a total of 2 hours. This may also be the case for young adults and I will provide that recommendation during the consultation call if I think it would be beneficial or necessary.
-
Following the initial evaluation, I will provide my recommendation for treatment. This can include:
- Type of treatment (DBT, CBT, and/or parent management training)
- Number of sessions per week
- Any other recommendations (e.g., group therapy)
It is then your choice to commit to the treatment plan that I provided. If you would like to move forward with treatment, we can schedule our first therapy session!
